Job Description
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing daily care and support to nursing home residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting residents with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Supporting residents with mobility and ensuring their safety within the nursing home.
- Monitoring residents' health and well-being, and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring residents' nutritional needs are met.
- Engaging in social activities with residents and promoting a positive and interactive atmosphere.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant is desirable but not essential.
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on residents' lives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
